Alison is enthusiastic about teaching practical dentistry skills that will help your team improve competence and confidence in dog and cat dentistry.

The Mission
The Toothtastic mission is to provide in-house and off-site education and coaching for Veterinary teams in NSW*, as well as select dentistry services to clients.
None of us receive enough dentistry training at vet school. We struggle as new graduates without the right mentorship, and often the best equipment for the job is not available or we don’t know how to use it. The range of available equipment has also increased over recent years and it’s hard to keep up.
The landscape of veterinary dentistry has changed dramatically over the last ten years. Clients are more demanding, and the amount of knowledge around veterinary dentistry has increased. It is now minimum standard of care that every patient receives full mouth radiographs as part of their regular “dental” procedure. Additionally, we can now intervene to save some teeth with periodontal therapy, and we can refer for advanced procedures such as root canals for tooth fractures, or crown height reduction and vital pulp therapy for malocclusions. We see patients earlier in the course of their disease and have more complicated extractions to perform.
Clinics are struggling to keep up with the staff training needed to ensure their dentistry days are more efficient and less overwhelming. External wet labs book out quickly and are expensive.
Wet labs are the foundation of improving your Veterinary Dentistry skills - but sending one staff member to a wet lab means the skills and learning are less likely to transfer to the whole team. In-house training gets the whole team on the same page and gets your staff confident on YOUR equipment.
Dr Alison can train your nurses and vets on your own equipment in your clinic whilst you keep the clinic running in the background, or on a weekend when you can make everyone available. She can also mentor your staff whilst they go about their day performing dentistry, like your own private dentistry cheerleader!
Toothtastic Pet Dentistry can help your team love dentistry and provide a high-quality service to your patients!

The Future
In addition to in-house training, I will be running offsite wet labs at the IM3
training centre in Lane Cove NSW* once or twice each year.

"I enjoyed my training on taking dental X-rays with Dr Alison. It has given me more confidence to have a go on my own. She was very clear explaining things."
